Killing Chivalry

As modern era of computer technology continues to wrap up our minds and the instant modification of such resources becomes a global trend, it seems that some things are now taken in a whole different way. It is undeniably helpful with regards to the developments in the processes that are needed for the country’s economy; but really eradicated the importance of some practices that should have been maintained to further strengthen the bond and fellowship among us.

With the news that Valentine’s Day would only be a few days away, almost every netizen will have to be voicing out his/her opinions regarding the matter. Either expressing delight over the news or showing their discomfort with the idea, it just shows that nowadays, the words “romantic relationship” and “love” are being taken to another world — social media.

In normal occurrences some years back, people would always be giving really deep emphasis on the importance of LOVE which also includes a romantic relationship between a girl and a boy. It was not something to be taken as neither a joke nor a phase of one’s youth. Perhaps, it is because people believe that love is somewhat a sacrament that needs to be taken seriously.

Indeed and with 101% certainty, love is not just an attachment rather it is and should be a mutual sharing of feelings that needs two people to work on it as not just something to post about on the Internet to be featured in relation with the trend of #relationshipgoals. There is no really correct and exact definition of love but personally speaking, I think and I believe that it is something that everyone should be ready for to avoid self-destruction and unfortunate circumstances.

Nowadays, even teenagers at the age of 10 get engaged in “romantic” relationships. It is such a shock for some people (including me) to come across young girls and boys getting all sweet while dating at food stalls, or kissing with the hands holding one another’s to mention some. #PiliPinas: A Call of Duty

The past months have been a total mix of issues about Philippine politics and political personalities, seemingly because we are nearing the national elections which will be held on the 9th of May in the present year. A series of campaigns, advertisements, debates, flyers & posters are around and they have been dropping signs that it’s yet again another time to choose the leaders of the country who will, hopefully, start a revolution.

In the perspective of a 14-year old like me, I find this whole thing completely interesting and informative. This time in the lives of the Filipinos provides more room for information and interaction, and also the moment wherein all sorts of voices would be heard.

After the 6-year long term of Benigno Simeon “Noynoy” C. Aquino III, it is no denial that I am most especially kind of excited but sort of anxious on who will be his successor. Counting the days left until the national elections day come, I’m still in that stage of pondering whether or not to expect, still, or to just live with the aftermath of irresponsible leadership and careless way of living.

In Noynoy’s leadership, although indeed there has been a fast economic growth, I still see no changes in the lives of my fellow citizens, especially and specifically the financially unstable ones. His “Daang Matuwid” seemed effective, but not quite, to be honest.

What about the #Fallen44 people, the Tanim-Bala scam, the Kidapawan massacre, the EDCA, the status of peace and order in Mindanao, the Pork Barrel scam and so many other issues that aren’t resolved yet and continue to be hindrances to our success? These things are the main reasons why we aren’t in that state of contentment as Filipinos who long for a better government and country.

I am, in the truest viewpoint, expectant for something that will completely change the way I look at the country as a whole. Not to the extent of perfection, but I am still hopeful that one day, I’ll wake up feeling the pride for my country and not the dissatisfaction over the lack of efforts for it to grow and prosper.
